Last weekend, the 18th Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk took place in Phu My Hung, District 7, with more than 5,000 participants; VND 3.4 billion was raised to support the needy to welcome the Lunar New Year.
Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk is an annual community activity, organized by Phu My Hung Corporation in collaboration with the People’s Committees of District 7, District 8, Nha Be County and Binh Chanh County at the end of each year to raise funds to support the needy.
With the spirit of mutual love and support, the Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk has received the support of many businesses and benefactors.
The 18th Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk has raised VND 3.4 billion. Up to now, through 18 events, the program has raised more than VND 44 billion for the needy.
The entire charity money raised from The 18th Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk was handed over to the Funds for the Poor in District 7, District 8, Nha Be County, Binh Chanh County; Sponsoring Association for Sports Talents (HCMC Department of Culture and Sports); One-Heart-Foundation of HTV.
In addition to fundraising for charity, the event also had a walking activity, with a route of about 2 km, to encourage people to participate in sports training and improving health.
Miss Vietnam 2018 Tran Tieu Vy also joined the walk. She said: “I joined the event with the desire to spread the spirit of volunteerism in the community.”
For Phu My Hung Corporation, the 18th Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk with meaningful social meaning has started a series of activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the company’s establishment (1993 – 2023).
